Baron Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier


The German bass-baritone Jürgen Linn studied at the Music Academy Mannheim. In 2007 he sang Telramund in a new production of “Lohengrin” at La Scala in Milan and at the Semperoper Dresden. In 2008 he performed Wotan in Wagner’s “Ring des Nibelungen” at the Nuremberg Opera. In 2009 and 2010 he sang Telramund in Peter Konwitschny’s production of “Lohengrin” at the Hamburg Staatsoper. Recently, he sang Baron Ochs auf Lerchenau in “Der Rosenkavalier” at the Leipzig Opera and at Berlin Staatsoper where he also participated in new productions of “Wozzeck” and “Lulu” under the musical leadership of Daniel Barenboim. Earlier this year he sang Alberich in a new production of “Das Rheingold” at Leipzig Opera and Wotan in “Die Walküre” at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. His repertoire also includes Hans Sachs in “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg”, Amfortas in “Parsifal”, the title role in “Der fliegende Holländer” , Kurwenal in “Tristan und Isolde”, and Jochanaan in “Salome”.
